Graduating university, a milestone birthday, procreating and …….. finding the perfect perfume.
Whilst the whole university thing is essentially only a matter of bunkering in with the books and a milestone birthday only requires you to, well, stay alive, sourcing your signature scent is no easy task.
For the last three years I have been juggling three businesses, started to renovate my apartment, completed a course on the other side of the world and been on a mission to find my ideal perfume.
In a role a little like a Glamorous Goldilocks, I have found many options that have not quite been the right fit. Some look great in the bottle and slip in seamlessly on my bathroom benchtop but there was something missing.
And don’t me started on the celebrity scents. Let’s just say, if you’ve got a bottle of Kim K’s latest collection on your dresser that’s all I need to know about you.
So without further ado, I am pleased to introduce my newest addition to my beauty regime – Mojave Ghost by Byredo Parfums.
Earnestly described as an Oriental Floral fragrance, its non technical combo is a mix of musk, violet, sandalwood, magnolia, and cedar.
It’s also unisex which guarantees it steers clear of that “too sweet for its own good” feature of many of today’s collections.
Sure I may not have started on my tax, my kitchen floor is yet to be finished, and I have a major writing piece due far too soon, but I do now have a signature scent.
For 2015 at least.
